God Created Man and Woman in His Image
Equal but Different

The quor'an, the jewish translation of the old testament: the torah, the book of Mormon and their ilk are male chauvinist mythology designed to enslave women in the name of yahweh, allah, et al. That and nothing more. These MAN-invented religions which 'claim' to be the 'word of God' dishonor Women, and the God that created everything, including man and woman. These religions bind women by so-called "Laws of God," to a demeaning secondary role in the world.

The Bible is the only True Word of God though some of the human interpretations of the original Hebrew are obviously not God-Inspired. In the original Hebrew, for example, it doesn't state that 'Eve was made from a rib of Adam'. It says that God created a man in His image, and then he likewise created a woman in His image. He created man and then woman so that they might marry and procreate. (And by the way, he expected them to enjoy the act of procreation, which is why he made it so much fun.)

Does it sound like God intended women to be 'lesser beings' than men? I think not! He made man and woman 'different but equal' — He wanted those whom he had created in His image to find and love each other — to increase the family of Humankind. Obviously, to do this, men and women would have to be 'different but equal' for it is the man who provides the seed to make a baby, but the woman who must carry that baby within her body until its birth. For that reason alone it doesn't seem possible that any man could consider any woman inferior!

Does any evidence indicate that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, considered women to be lesser beings than men? No. In fact, Jesus spent a great deal of time in the company of women talking about God's desires for his Creations. Did he think women were meant to be only servants of men? Let Jesus' words speak for himself!

[Luke 10:38-42]
Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

If a man believes he is 'superior by God' to his wife, then he also carries the weight of being completely responsible for his wife, a burden that shortens the life of many men because it is so unfair and so unnecessary. God created Woman to be the "help mate" of Man.

Ezer, the Hebrew word for "help", is different in this verse from the same word used in other situations. When used as a noun, Ezer is used over twenty times throughout the Bible. Ezer means "rescuer, empowerer and deliverer" In Psalm 40:17, "Ezer" is used to describe God.

Eve was created as a power (or strength) equal to Adam. This perspective is supported by other expressions of equality such as the covenant code in Exodus 21 and 22. God acknowledged the inadequacy of the creation of Adam alone, by saying, "It is not good for man to be alone" and then He created woman, to be "ezer kenegedo" — a strength and power equal to man.

God values all of creation. That is why Jesus came to this earth and died for us. Jesus died for all of us, regardless of our gender. What more wonderful demonstration of His love could we have? God loved us enough to die for us, and described woman as ezer kenegedo.

When Christian women surrender to feelings of inferiority and think that we are not as worthy as our Christian brothers, we are sinning against God. God intended women to be equal to men, to work together with men to spread the gospel and to live a life of Divinely-inspired Purpose.

For the Glory of God, we must fight the good fight to win the right of women to be treated as what they are: equal but different from men. Different, yes, but not inferior in any sense of the word. Men and women are "different sides to the same coin", 'yin / yang' to each other. Yin and yang oppose each other and at the same time have an interdependent relationship. Without Yang there is no Yin, without Yin there is no Yang. This is the kind of relationship that men and women have, or should have, with each other. Neither man nor woman is 'superior' to the other, but without the other, though complete onto themselves, they can not experience full human synergy. This is the irony and sadness that misguided religious and cultural beliefs fail to understand: man needs woman as much as woman needs man.

Does the Muslim faith treat women as 'equal but different' from men? Judge for yourself! Here's an interesting quote from a official Saudi Arabian site: "Health: Infant mortality declining, twenty-one per 1,000 births in Ministry of Health hospitals in 1990." Doesn't sound too bad statistically, huh? Except for one small detail they neglected to mention — in Saudi-Arabia, as in many Islamic countries, the births and deaths of FEMALES are not recorded, anywhere, except of course in the hearts of their mothers. You see, females are considered 'lesser beings' than males. Do you think that God, who made man AND woman in His own image takes a light view of the hubris it takes for men to treat women so demeaningly?
